National solar power capacity increased by 48.8
Today, the National Energy Administration released the national power industry statistics from January to August. Data show that as of the end of August, the country's cumulative installed power generation capacity was about 3.13 billion kilowatts, a year-on-year increase of 14.0 percent. Among them, the installed capacity of solar power generation is about 0.75 billion kilowatts, a year-on-year increase of 48.8; the installed capacity of wind power is about 0.47 billion kilowatts, a year-on-year increase of 19.9.
From January to August, the cumulative average utilization of power generation equipment nationwide was 2328 hours, 103 hours less than the same period last year. From January to August, the country's major power generation enterprises completed an investment of 497.6 billion billion yuan in power projects, an increase of 5.1 percent over the same period last year. The investment in power grid projects was 333 billion billion yuan, up 23.1 year on year.
Other data show that in August, the electricity consumption of the whole society 964.9 billion kilowatt-hours, an increase of 8.9 per cent over the same period last year. In terms of electricity consumption by industry, the electricity consumption of the primary industry 14.9 billion kWh, an increase of 4.6 percent over the same period last year; the electricity consumption of the secondary industry 567.9 billion kWh, an increase of 4.0 percent over the same period last year; the electricity consumption of the tertiary industry 190.3 billion kWh, an increase of 11.2 percent over the same period last year; and the domestic electricity consumption of urban and rural residents 191.8 billion kWh, an increase of 23.7 percent over the same period last year.
